What you'll do

At Dataprovider, we are dedicated to summarizing the technological landscape of websites worldwide, offering insights into the technologies used on each site. Our cutting-edge technology detection platform is utilized by leading organizations, governments, and universities to discover companies and websites employing specific technologies such as Plausible, SendGrid, HubSpot, and Shopify Plus.

We are currently seeking a technology detection manager to spearhead the creation of new fields and fingerprints for detecting website technologies. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to potentially build and lead a new team. As a technology detection manager, you'll oversee the research and detection of technology throughout the entire process, from the initial crawl to data availability in the interface. In addition to creating new fields and technologies, you'll also manage the recipes, which are predefined datasets.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with our development, sales, and marketing teams.
• Developing new fingerprints, recipes and monitoring and updating existing ones.
• Staying informed about the latest digital and business trends and actively generating new recipes based on web trends.
• Working on our technology detection project, searching for clues within all available data, for example: HTML, HTTP headers, and DNS TXT records to identify website technologies through fingerprint matching.
• Providing support to our sales and marketing team.
• Come up with a strategy and approach to scale technology detection in the future.

Who you are

You’re structured and precise in your work and eager to learn the complexity of our product. In addition:

• You’ve completed a degree in Business IT & Management, Software Engineering or a related discipline
• You like to solve complex puzzles
• You have perseverance
  
• You are accurate
  
• You've got good communication skills
• You’ve got basic experience with frontend development
• You’ve got basic knowledge in DNS, networks and hosting
• You’re proficient in English (written and spoken)
• You’re innately curious and love to browse through data
• You’re interested in the latest digital and web technologies trends
• You’re organized and you work with attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of PHP, Python or another scripting language is a plus
• You have an EU passport
